Chairman
Dado Banatao | Managing
Partner, Founder, Tallwood Ventures
With his past experiences as an entrepreneur, Dado provides
Quintic with a unique perspective. As an engineer, he is credited with
developing several key semiconductor technologies and is regarded as a
Silicon Valley visionary. As our lead investor, he has a keen sense of
trends and opportunities involving technology solutions for computing
and communications. Prior to forming Tallwood, Dado was a venture partner
at the Mayfield Fund. He co-founded three technology startups: S3 (SBLU),
Chips & Technologies (INTC) and Mostron. He also held positions at
National Semiconductor, Seeq Technologies, Intersil and Commodore International.
In 1997, he was honored with the prestigious Master Entrepreneur of the
Year Award sponsored by Ernst & Young, Inc. magazine and Merrill Lynch
Business Financial Services. In addition to Quintic, Dado also serves
as Chairman of SiRF Technology (SIRF), InPhi Corporation, Peleton and
Sequoia Communications and is on the boards of directors of Alphion Corporation,
Redfern Integrated Optics, Teja Technologies Inc. and T-RAM Semiconductor.
He also served as Chairman and led investments in Marvell Technology Group
(MRVL); Acclaim Communications, acquired by Level One (INTC); Newport
Communications, acquired by Broadcom (BRCM); Cyras Systems, acquired by
Ciena (CIEN); and Stream Machine, acquired by Cirrus Logic (CRUS).Dado
holds a B.S.E.E., cum laude, from the Mapua Institute of Technology in
the Philippines and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Members
George Pavlov | General Partner, Tallwood Ventures
George brings broad experience in venture capital, private
equity, operations and technology to Tallwood. His ability to take a high-level
business perspective helps him guide portfolio companies through complex
decisions. George spends a portion of his time thinking about how Tallwood
can expand beyond its early stage venture practice, which helps the firm
plan for the future.
Prior to joining Tallwood, George was CEO of eTime Capital,
a troubled enterprise software and services company that he restructured
to achieve optimal liquidation. Earlier, he was General Partner and Chief
Financial Officer of Mayfield, a venture capital fund. Before that, he
was the Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director of Blum Capital
Partners, a San Francisco-based private equity firm and registered investment
advisor. George also held several financial and sales management positions
at NeXT Computer, where he prepared industry and company strategic overviews,
developed an expanded distribution strategy and managed customer satisfaction
programs.
In addition to Quintic, George serves on the boards of
directors of Amulaire Thermal Technology, Astute Networks, Audience Inc.,
Calypto Design Systems, Crossing Automation Inc. and M2000. George holds
a B.S. in Accounting from Boston College. |

C.K. Cheng | General Partner, Harbinger USA
C.K. Cheng is General Partner of Harbinger Venture, US
Operations. Since
1983, Mr. Cheng has served the MiTAC-SYNNEX Group in different capacities.
Prior to co-founding Harbinger, Mr. Cheng was the senior Vice President
of
Product Marketing and Manufacturing Operation at SYNNEX. His previous
investments include S3, VA Linux (NASDAQ: LNUX), Altigen (NASDAQ: ATGN),
and Synnex Corp. (NYSE: SNX).
Mr. Cheng received his MBA from Chiao-Tung University,
Taiwan, and B.S.
degree in Physics from Tsing-Hua University, Taiwan. |

Dr. Chenming Hu | Founder
TSMC Distinguished Chair Professor of Microelectronics
University of California at Berkeley
Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
Dr. Chenming Hu is the TSMC Distinguished Chair Professor
of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley. He joined
the Berkeley faculty in 1976. From 2001 to 2004, he was the Chief Technology
Officer of TSMC, world's largest dedicated integrated circuits manufacturing
company. He was the founding chairman of Celestry Design Technologies,
an IC design software company that was acquired by Cadence Design Systems
in 2003.
He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering, a member of
Academia Sinica, a fellow of IEEE, a fellow of the Institute of Physics,
and an honorary professor of Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing, and
of Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. IEEE awarded him the 2002 Solid State
Circuits Award for developing BSIM--- international standard SPICE model
of MOSFETs, and the 1997 Jack A. Morton Award for his contributions to
transistor reliability. He is also noted for developing the FinFET transistor
structure that is promising for scaling the transistors to less than 10nm.
He has received UC Berkeley's highest honor for teaching—the Berkeley
Distinguished Teaching Award. He is the author or co-author of three books
and 800 research papers in the field of semiconductor technology.
Dr. Hu received his B.S. degree from the National Taiwan University and
M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, all in electrical
engineering.
Victor Ren | President &
CEO,Quintic
Victor brings nearly 30 years of experience in high-technology
startups and large semiconductor companies alike to Quintic. His
proven track record in driving startups will help Quintic achieve its
goal to become the finest mixed-signal fabless semiconductor company serving
the portable and mobile electronics industries.
Prior to joining Quintc, Victor was the Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer at Auvitek, a fabless semiconductor
company focused on the DTV market where he successfully led the company
to both a shipping product and successful round of financing. Earlier,
he was the Vice President of Marketing at ESS Technology, where he led
all facets of the company’s marketing, to and including strategic
and tactical marketing, marketing communications, and project management.
Before that, he was the Vice President of product marketing at Cirrus
Logic, and prior to Cirrus, he was the Vice President of Sales and Business
Development at Stream Machines. In addition to Quintic, Victor has
been President and CEO of Onward Electronics as well as numerous marketing
and product management roles at companies such as Ramtek and IKOS
systems throughout his illustrious career.
Victor received his Master of Engineering in Electrical
and Computer Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
and an Honor’s Degree/Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
with a minor in Mathematics at Marquette University.
Mark Cao | Vice
President of Operations,Quintic
Mark Cao graduated from the EECS department
of University of California at Berkeley with a Ph.D. degree in 2002. He
worked at Philips Semiconductor in 2003 on Wireless LAN RF IC design. From
Nov. 2003 to July 2005, he joined the founding engineering team of Uniband
Electronics Corp., Taiwan (acquired by MediaTek) in Milpitas, CA. At UBEC,
he worked on IEEE 802.11g, IEEE802.11 a/b/g combo, and ZigBee chips as a
leading RF designer and engineering manager. In Oct. 2005, he co-founded
Quintic Corporation and served as the first President and interim CEO until
Dec. 2006. He is holding a certificate on Management of Technology from
the Haas Business School of U.C. Berkeley. |
